Joining the server

Server update: Block logging and rollback are back as of 9 October 2026, so staff can trace and undo griefing again. Damage done between 17 September and 9 October was not logged and cannot be rolled back automatically; report it anyway. Keep using Minecraft Java 26.3.

There is no application and no waiting list. For now, anyone with Minecraft Java Edition can join; you do not need Discord to play. Linking your Minecraft account to your Discord account is optional but recommended.

Discord linking is optional for now

This is temporary. Players who have not linked get the same survival features as everyone else: land claims, homes, teleport requests, and /back. Linking adds the member role and shows your Discord name next to your chat. Linking may be required again later, so linking now saves you a step.

What you need

Minecraft Java Edition, 26.3. That is the recommended version. 26.2 can also connect, but it has had very little testing; anything older is unsupported. Bedrock Edition (consoles, phones, Windows Store version) cannot connect.
A genuine Minecraft account. The server verifies every login with Mojang. Cracked or shared launchers will not work.
Optional: a Discord account in the Lost Tribe Discord. Not needed to join right now, but recommended. See step 3.

You must be 13 or older

This is the server's rule, and it still applies while Discord linking is optional. Parents and guardians: the parents page explains more.

Step 1: join the Discord (recommended)

Join Lost Tribe on Discord if you are not already in it. It is where the community chats, where server news is posted, and where you report problems and get help. You do not need it to join the server right now.

Step 2: add the server

Open Minecraft and click Multiplayer.
Click Add Server.
Server name: anything you like, for example Lost Tribe.
Server address: mc.losttribe.me
Click Done.

No port number is needed. If the name will not resolve on your network, the numeric address 104.247.112.132 works too.

Step 3: link your account (optional for now)

Linking tells the server which Discord account is yours. It adds the member role and shows your Discord name next to your chat. You do not need it to play right now.

Join the server and type /discord link in chat. You get a short code.
On Discord, open a direct message with the LT Levi Minecraft (find it in the Lost Tribe server's member list) and send only the code.
The bot confirms the link. You can keep playing; there is no need to rejoin.

You only do this once. Later you can check the link with /discord linked in game, or remove it with /discord unlink.

Did not get a code, or it stopped working?

Type /discord link again for a fresh code. Codes expire after a few minutes. If the bot does not answer, check that your Discord privacy settings allow direct messages from server members, then ask in #minecraft-help.

Your first join

You arrive at spawn. The 16 blocks around spawn are protected, so build a little further out.
Type /rules once to read the rules in game.
Say hello in chat. Chat is mirrored to #minecraft on Discord, so the community can see you arrive.
Find a spot you like, place a chest to start a small automatic claim, then read how claims work before building anything big.

Ranks

For now every player gets homes, teleport requests, land claims, and /back, linked or not. Linking your Minecraft and Discord accounts automatically adds member. Existing higher ranks are preserved.

Rank	What it means
default	Players who have not linked Discord. For now this includes everything Member has. Linking automatically adds Member.
member	Players who linked Discord. Normal play: claims, 3 homes, teleport requests, nicknames.
[Trusted]	Long-standing members: 5 homes, portable crafting table and ender chest.
[Helper] [Mod] [Admin]	Staff. They answer reports and keep the server safe.

Connection problems

"You are banned from this server"

Minecraft bans block entry. Discord bans and unbans carry over to linked Minecraft accounts that have played before. Minecraft bans and pardons do not change Discord. If you think it is a mistake, message an admin on Discord to appeal.

"Outdated client" or "Outdated server"

Use Minecraft 26.3. Select or create a 26.3 installation in the launcher. 26.2 can also connect; versions older than 26.2 are unsupported.

"Failed to verify username"

Mojang's login servers are having trouble. Fully close the launcher, sign out and back in, and try again in a few minutes.

"Unknown host" or the address will not resolve

Try the numeric address 104.247.112.132. If that works, your network's DNS is slow to pick up the name. It will sort itself out.

"Connection refused" or endless "Connecting..."

The server is probably restarting or down. Check #server-status on Discord, which posts automatically the moment the server goes up or down. If it has been down a while, ask in #minecraft-help.

Playing with mods

Performance mods (Sodium, Lithium, and similar) and cosmetic mods are generally fine. Anything that shows you hidden ores, lets you fly, or automates play counts as cheating. See the rules.
